Of earth and nature and magical things

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns." ~George Eliot (1819 – 1880)

"Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn."
~Elizabeth Lawrence

"Youth is like spring, an over praised season more remarkable for biting winds than genial breezes. Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits."
~Samuel Butler
(1835 – 1902)

Besides the autumn poets sing,
A few prosaic days
A little this side of the snow
And that side of the haze.
~Emily Dickinson (1830 – 1886)

"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all." ~Stanley Horowitz

How much do I love Autumn? I love, love, love this time of year. I can never get enough of this beautiful, earthy season, with all it's delicious textures and vibrant colours. The leaves, the trees, I love it all! And it's even more beautiful when there is a clear night and a full moon...

There are so many wonderful places to visit around Victoria at this time of year. I took a drive up to beautiful Kyneton in the Central Highlands area on Saturday, and found myself in equally beautiful Healesville on Monday, where I took these shots at the Maroondah dam. I really can't get enough of Autumn. Sometimes I wish it would last all the year.

Every now and then I love to shoot and NOT add textures and enhancement of any kind to my images. I figure nature does just fine without my feeling the need to add anything extra at all.
