The Art of Renaissance

Where in the wide world can man find
Nobility without pride,
Friendship without envy
Or Beauty without vanity?
Here, where grace is laced with muscle,
And Strength by gentleness confined.
He serves without servility,
He has fought without enmity.
There is nothing so powerful,
Nothing less violent; there is nothing
So quick, nothing more patient.
All of our past has been borne on his back.
All our history is his industry,
We are his heirs, he our inheritance.
Ladies and Gentlemen –
The Horse.

Anne and Renaissance, Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, April 2010.

He's a beautiful, big, proud, free-spirited, high-stepping, chestnut gelding - and clearly one of the loves of Anne's life. I can see why. I had the chance to shoot him and Anne doing their thing in the indoor arena at WPNEC back in April.

  2. He certainly is, Karmann. And very proud too. I used to have horses of my own many years ago, when I was still living at home in North Queensland. I ride every now and then. And love it as much as I ever did.

If you want one, you should go for it. :)
