Brunswick Street Gallery - 'Picture This 2010' Photographic Competition

"I soon realized that no journey carries one far unless, as it extends into the world around us, it goes an equal distance into the world within."
~Lillian Smith

I discovered a few days ago that the Brunswick Street Gallery is running an Open Photographic Competition - 'Picture This 2010' from 17-29 July. As 'luck' would have it, entries which were due to close on 4 July, have for some reason been extended until the 14th. Happily, that gave me time to submit a couple of artworks, one of which is a recycled framed print from my 'Tall Ships' series. Whilst preparing for the Art Prize, I ended up with two canvases of my 'Shack #10' photograph, so I sent one of them off to Broken Hill this afternoon, and the other to Brunswick Street.

Funnily enough, judging for both the BSG competition and the BHRAG's Outback Open Art Prize are both happening at pretty much the same time on the very same evening - July 23rd. Both competitions came out of the blue, and I'm not quite sure if that's the planets aligning in my favour, or what (it'd be really nice to think so) - but it would be such a HUGE buzz to win - either - or better still... both!

At least I'm not going to have to wait very long to find out.
