After Midnight

Many years ago, I crossed paths with an amazing lady by the name of Jit. She was a Thai national. We met briefly when she was in Australia undertaking some studies connected to working with deaf students. She was a director of a university back in Thailand, and as I recall, had spent a brief period of time with Mother Theresa while working with lepers. It was one of those crossings of paths that left a lasting mark, and had a life-long impact.

Jit taught me to meditate. She taught me to say a prayer for loved ones at the beginning of each meditation. And it was in this way, that I first discovered it was possible to focus your intention upon someone, and have that intention manifest in their lives. Always in a loving and positive way. It was also when I began to experience the visions for the first time.

I still remember Jit telling me how the best time for meditation was between midnight and when the sun comes up. I recall reading something somewhere once, about how the veil between the realms is thinnest during these hours. And that has certainly been my experience over the years. It's why I love the night.

"Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life." ~Buddha

These beautiful candles are handmade - of pure beeswax. These days they are the only type of candle I burn. I really love using them whenever I meditate and channel. Candles go a long way towards creating sacred space and warmth. They become a beautiful focal point for your intentions, and help you to focus your mind. I could stare into the flames for hours. I find them to be completely mesmerizing.

Right now, there's an additional and urgent reason to pray - for the many souls who have found themselves in the path of Hurricane Sandy. May all somehow, by some miracle, end up safe and well.

Love & light
